Take us back to your childhood—what first sparked your fascination with science and the natural world? As a young Christian, I loved studying the world around me, reading the Bible, and exploring history and Scripture. I was naturally curious and began connecting what I observed in nature with what I read in God’s Word. Even early on, I saw the world not just as something to observe, but something to understand through both science and faith, recognizing that the two were not in conflict but deeply connected.

You’ve mentioned discovering fossils in your backyard and photographing the Orion Nebula as a teenager—how did those moments shape your sense of purpose? Every fossil and telescope observation revealed God’s design to me. At 16, Psalm 19:1— “The heavens declare the glory of God”—became real, marking a defining moment where my passion for science and faith came together. Those early experiences helped me see that even the smallest detail in nature reflects intentional design.

At what point did your curiosity about science become a calling tied to your faith? It became a calling when I realized science wasn’t just something I enjoyed—it was something I could use to point people to God and help strengthen their faith in a meaningful and lasting way.

Were there any mentors, experiences, or turning points that helped solidify your direction early on? I reached out to scientists after reading their books, asking questions and learning from them. Some invited me on dinosaur digs or taught me astrophysics. Later, mentors with PhDs poured into me, helping shape my ministry and opening doors that allowed me to grow both intellectually and spiritually.

How did your upbringing influence your perspective on the relationship between science and Scripture? Being surrounded by strong Christians taught me that studying the world naturally points to the Creator. That foundation shaped how I approach both science and Scripture, seeing them as complementary sources of truth.

Faith & Science

Many people see science and faith as being in conflict—when did you first become passionate about bridging that divide? I became passionate about it when I saw how many young believers were walking away from their faith because of what they were taught about science. I’ve heard people say they were Christians until they went to college and encountered evolution, believing it replaced everything they had learned in church. That showed me there was a real need to address this issue.

How would you explain, in simple terms, your core message that science confirms biblical truth? From galaxies to DNA, we see order, complexity, and purpose—clear evidence of intentional design pointing to God. The consistency of natural laws further reinforces that the universe operates according to a purposeful framework.

What are some of the most compelling scientific discoveries that have strengthened your own faith journey? NASA discoveries show a finely tuned solar system. My own telescope research aligns with a biblical timeframe. Studying animals like cheetahs and giraffes reveals remarkable design and efficiency that point beyond random processes. Additionally, soft tissue found in dinosaur bones challenges long timelines and fits a biblical framework, something I’ve also observed firsthand on fossil digs.

Have you ever faced skepticism or criticism for your views? How have you navigated those conversations? Yes. Often, the issue isn’t the science itself but its use in supporting a Christian perspective. I also hear from Christians who feel evidence isn’t necessary. I believe Christianity is an evidence-based faith, and using that evidence thoughtfully can strengthen believers and reach those who are searching for truth.

Why do you think this conversation—science and faith—is especially important for this generation? Today’s culture often teaches that life is accidental, leading to confusion about identity and morality. Removing God leads to moral relativism. This conversation matters because it helps restore a sense of purpose, showing that science reveals God rather than replacing Him.

The Wonders Center & Science Museum

What inspired you to found the Wonders Center & Science Museum, including your ministry? I began ministry at 18, creating media and speaking. With my brother, Murry, I opened a small facility in Tennessee. Over time, I received valuable items and felt led to preserve them for a greater purpose in the future. After visiting museums worldwide, I noticed many presented unprovable philosophical interpretations alongside solid science. Eventually, we acquired a building in Dickson, and the Wonders Center was born, with God providing every need along the way.

Is there a gap you were hoping to fill? How does the museum differ from traditional science museums in both content and mission? I wanted a place where families could experience accurate science aligned with a biblical worldview. It offers hands-on exhibits for all ages, allowing visitors to explore and learn without having to filter conflicting messages.

Can you describe the visitor experience? What do you hope families walk away with after a visit? Visitors see a 55-foot dinosaur, live animals, meteorites, immersive films, artifacts, and a world-class planetarium. Families can spend the entire day engaging with science in a hands-on, memorable way. We hope they leave inspired, encouraged, and seeing science through a biblical perspective for the first time.

The planetarium is considered one of the top ten in the world. How does it and the Tesla Coil experience play into your broader vision of communicating truth through science? The planetarium brings Psalm 19:1 to life through an immersive experience of the universe. The Tesla Coil demonstrates the power and precision of physics. Both experiences help translate complex scientific principles into something tangible and unforgettable.

What has been the most rewarding moment since opening the museum? Seeing families experience joy and wonder as they realize that creation points to God has been incredibly rewarding.

How has the Nashville area responded to the museum and its message? The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with visitors coming from across Tennessee and beyond, making it a destination for families seeking both education and encouragement.

Media, Broadcasting & Global Reach

Tell us about the Genesis Science Network—what is its mission, and why is it needed right now? Genesis Science Network provides science, nature, and history content from a biblical perspective. It’s free, available 24/7, and has already led to meaningful impact, including people coming to faith. Broadcasting has become a powerful way to reach audiences far beyond a physical location.

How do you approach communicating complex scientific ideas with faith to a broad audience in a clear and engaging way? I focus on clarity and relatability, so people truly understand the message, not just the terminology.

What topics or episodes have resonated most strongly with your audience?
Human biology, animal design, and astronomy resonate most because they connect directly to everyday life while also inspiring awe and curiosity.

Your books “21 Verses Backed by Science” and “Wonders Without Number” have reached wide audiences. What inspired you to write them? “Wonders Without Number” was inspired by Job’s description of God’s works—some beyond understanding, others open to exploration. It reflects how we can study creation and give God glory.
“21 Verses Backed by Science” addresses growing skepticism toward the Bible, showing that it stands up to scientific, historical, and prophetic study in a compelling way.

How do you approach researching topics that span both theology and advanced science? I begin with Scripture and explore how fields like astronomy, archaeology, and genetics affirm it, looking for consistency between God’s Word and His creation.

What has surprised you most in your research? Has there been anything that challenged or deepened your own understanding? Some topics remind me that not everything is fully understood, which deepens both humility and excitement for continued discovery.

If a reader is new to this conversation, where should they begin? Start with 21 Verses Backed by Science for a clear and accessible foundation.

Cultural Relevance & Next Generation Impact

What challenges do you see today’s youth facing when it comes to faith and identity? Many are taught ideas as fact without examining the evidence and are told they are accidents of evolution, which impacts their sense of purpose and identity.

What advice would you give to a young person who feels called to science but also wants to stay rooted in their faith? You don’t have to choose—pursue both, ask honest questions, and stay grounded in truth.

Personal Faith & Calling

At the heart of your message is the idea that we are “created with a purpose”—how has that truth shaped your own life? It reminds me that every person has purpose and value, shaping both my work and my perspective on life.

Psalm 19:1 is a verse you often quote. What does it mean to you personally? It reminds me daily that creation itself reflects God’s glory, design, and love in a powerful and undeniable way.

Vision for the Future

Looking ahead, what’s next for you and your ministry? I’m excited about our annual fossil dig in Kansas, an upcoming African photo safari, and continued expansion at the Wonders Center, including a new exhibit hall, Wonders of the Sea, featuring large saltwater aquariums and new interactive experiences.

If you could leave readers with one message, what would it be? Your Creator loves you. As Romans 1:20 says, creation reveals Him. Earth is special because Christ lived, died, and rose again so we could be part of His family. That is the message all of creation proclaims and the foundation of everything we do.
