Make Heaven Crowded. In recent months, you may have heard or read this term more often than usual on social media platforms. The phrase—“Make Heaven Crowded”—was highlighted by Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, in a moving speech just days after his assassination. She said:

“Charlie, you are alongside Jesus right now, doing what you always wanted to do. Making heaven crowded, right? That’s what it’s all about.”

But what does it mean? Is it just a popular saying?

It is important to remember that as Christians we have a calling. Do you remember the Great Commission in Matthew?  Matthew 28:16-20 (NIV) states, “Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshipped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’”  The core meaning of this Bible verse is to encourage Christians to spread the Word of God throughout the entire world through evangelism, baptism and discipleship. In doing so, the hope is that more people will know God, love God, and spend eternity with God; therefore, Making Heaven Crowded.

We should have a desire to lead others to Christ and share the Good News. There are so many ways we can do that. We can share our faith, our testimony, live out our faith in a way people can see and follow, share the gospel, show love and compassion, and be a witness to others. Let’s be bold in our faith, stand for what is right, what is true, and what is just. Let God work through you in order to advance His Kingdom. In Revelation 7:9-10 (NIV) it states, “After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: ‘Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.’”

Heaven is going to be crowded. John (the author of Revelation) tells us that in this scripture. The question is, are you going to help in that pursuit, are you going to be a part of making heaven crowded, by leading others to Christ, to an eternity with the Creator of the Universe?
