Meet Monique

Monique decided to move to Murfreesboro to provide her daughter with the opportunity to live near her father. Unfortunately, she did not budget enough money to keep them in a hotel until a job and apartment could be attained. She reached out to The Salvation Army when she knew they would soon be without a place to live.

On the last day of their hotel stay, The Salvation Army called and said they had a room ready for them to move into. “They provided a level of comfort with not having to worry about where we were going to go or where our next meal was going to come from,” said Monique.

During their stay, Monique secured a job with only one catch – she had to work remotely. The Salvation Army set up a space for her so she could take the job. Within a month of starting her job, she had also found an apartment for her family.

“The Salvation Army was there to break our fall. Get me back to the place where I could live independently and have some stability,” she said. “I feel like I am on my way. I’m thankful to The Salvation Army because it’s the kindness of people who don’t know you. Just that you’re a human being that needed help.”
