Hard to believe but it is only a few more weeks – until December 7th – to make changes to your Medicare Advantage Plans if you need or want to.
This is the time of year when if you have a MA, MAPD, or PDP plan that you can make selections with your existing plan. You may stay right where you are! Your ANOC letter (annual notice of change) was mailed to you near the end of September letting you know what changes will take place on your current plan for 2021. As long as those changes were acceptable to you, you don’t have to do a thing – you will automatically be enrolled in the same plan for next year.
But this is a really good time to see what other options are out there. Benefits change, drug formularies change, tier co-pays change, co-insurance amounts change, and providers may change. “It can be a bit overwhelming for our seniors or anyone new to Medicare “states Ben Davis, CSA (Certified Senior Advisor). Ben has been involved in the Medicare arena since 2005 and has seen a lot of changes during those many years.
Remember not all Hospitals or Providers take all the plans that are out there. And the extra benefits that the plans offer may have changed – most have gotten better! Medicare does not cover dental, vision, or hearing. However, most of the MAPD plans will have some coverage in all three of these areas. If having dental benefits are important to you, or hearing aids, or glasses/contacts then look into the plans that address your needs.
Got questions? Don’t know what questions to ask? If you need help or if you are just getting started with Medicare coverage give me a call and let’s get the process started.
