In a world with competing voices, it can be difficult to find family friendly videos to watch with the whole family. Five Peaks Animation saw a need for clean entertainment and created several video series for families including Milo’s Currents.
Meet Milo. Milo the Manatee is a smooth- voiced crooner whose songs lift hearts with hope, grace, and faith thirty feet beneath Jupiter Inlet at the Manatee Blues Club. Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Studio Central and Five Peaks Animation, Monte Young, explains that Milo’s Currents is the most recent project his team has released. How did they come up with the name of the series and character? “Milo the Manatee just kind of flowed together. It hada warm, friendly ring that felt perfect for the kind of show I wanted to make,” Young explains, adding, “Currents came from a deeper place. That part was inspired by faith and the idea that, like the ocean, life moves in unseen ways. Sometimes the current is calm, sometimes it’s rough, but it’s always carrying us somewhere with purpose.” A new episode in Milo’s Currents is released every week, and each video is filled with joy, warmth, wit, and spiritual truths when Milo and his friends share spiritual boosts dur- ing their underwater jam sessions. “The goal with Milo is simple. We want people to see it, smile, and feel a little lift from it. It’s really about showing that faith can make you laugh just as much as it makes you think,” Young says.
Other series released by Five Peaks Animation include: BookEnds, Inspector Specs, and Emer- genSea. These animated adventures are both entertaining and education- al. Young explains that the team is also working on a show for adults. Cosmic Signature “centers on a scientist who discovers a message coded into his DNA that reads, “Find the others and spread the light,” he shares, adding, “It explores where faith meets science and shows how the two aren’t as opposed as many people are led to believe.”
