For Christian families seeking meaningful educational experiences, the Wonders Center & Science Museum,  in Dickson offers something uniquely refreshing: a place where scientific exploration and biblical faith are not in conflict, but in harmony.

Just 35 minutes west of Nashville, in Dickson, the Wonders Center has become a regional destination for families, homeschool groups, and school field trips, at a museum that inspires curiosity, strengthens critical thinking, and reinforces a Christ-centered worldview.

From the moment families step inside, it’s clear this is no ordinary museum. The Wonders Center is intentionally designed as a hands-on learning environment where children and adults alike engage directly with the principles that shape God’s creation.

Across more than 100,000 square feet of exhibits, guests explore physics, geology, biology, astronomy, engineering, paleontology, and natural history. Instead of simply reading placards, students race cars to understand force and motion, investigate fossils, experiment with interactive science stations, and observe detailed displays that bring scientific concepts to life.

At the Wonders Center, children aren’t just passive observers—they actively participate in hands on activities and experience the “how” behind the world God designed.

For parents, this creates invaluable teaching moments. A lesson about gravity becomes a conversation about order and design. A study of the solar system becomes an opportunity to reflect on Psalm 19:1: “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.”

Education that Strengthens Both Mind and Faith

What makes the Wonders Center especially meaningful for Christian families is its commitment to presenting science through the lens of biblical truth. Exhibits and educational programming are thoughtfully developed to affirm that faith and scientific inquiry work together rather than stand opposed.

The Heavens Declare Planetarium, recognized as one of the top planetarium experiences in the nation, immerses visitors in the vastness of the universe. As families journey through galaxies and star systems, they are reminded not only of the complexity of the cosmos but also of the Creator who spoke it into existence.

For homeschool families and Christian educators, the museum serves as an extension of the classroom. Group programs, guided experiences, and interactive demonstrations align with STEM educational standards while reinforcing a biblical worldview. Students gain exposure to rigorous scientific concepts, while maintaining confidence that their faith foundation remains intact.

In a culture where science and Christianity are often portrayed as adversaries, the Wonders Center offers a powerful alternative: curiosity anchored in truth.

Special Event: S.T.E.A.M. Day – March 16

On Monday, March 16, 2026, the Wonders Center will host a special Homeschool S.T.E.A.M. Day from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.—a celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math designed to ignite imagination and deepen understanding.

S.T.E.A.M. education highlights how creativity and critical thinking intersect. Engineering requires design. Technology demands innovation. Science invites inquiry. Art cultivates expression. Together, these disciplines reflect the creativity of our Creator.

Throughout the day, families can participate in interactive exhibits, hands-on challenges, and live demonstrations that encourage students to apply what they learn. Learners will have opportunities to showcase projects and inventions, allowing young innovators to present their ideas in a supportive environment. If you would like your child to submit their ideas, fill out the form at Events@davidrives.com (Limited availability).

In collaboration with Liberty University, a special highlight of the event will be a performance by the Liberty Chamber Singers in the Wonders Theater, reminding attendees that artistic expression, the “A” in S.T.E.A.M, is itself a reflection of God’s creative nature. There will also be an opportunity to learn more about Liberty University and all it offers at its booth located in the rotunda.

This event provides both educational enrichment and community connection. Children engage with peers, share ideas, and grow in confidence while exploring disciplines that prepare them for future vocations.

Why Experiences Like This Matter

Christian parents carry the responsibility of preparing their children not only academically, but spiritually. The Wonders Center supports that mission by creating an environment where learning is immersive, intellectually stimulating, and faith-affirming.

When children are encouraged to marvel at the intricacy of a fossil, the precision of physical laws, or the vastness of the universe, they are being invited into something deeper than information. They are being invited into awe.

Founder and Director of the Wonders Center, David Rives, often quotes Psalm 19:1, saying, “‘The heavens declare the glory of God,’ and at the Wonders Center, families experience that truth firsthand. S.T.E.A.M. Day is a special opportunity for students to explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math in a way that strengthens both their understanding of God’s creation and their confidence to use their gifts for His glory.”

For Nashville Christian families looking to blend faith, education, and unforgettable hands-on learning, the Wonders Center & Science Museum offers an experience where discovery inspires and strengthens both mind and faith.
