Meet Jasmine
Jasmine lost her job and then her housing. She found herself living in her car with her two young children in the middle of the winter. It was at that point, she reached out for help and was directed to The Salvation Army. Three days after making contact, The Salvation Army called to tell her they had a room ready for her family.
It was a drastic and welcome change from living in their car. Both Jasmine and her children had their own rooms to sleep in. “I had a since of joy and calmness come over me. I didn’t have to look over my shoulder. We had a place to call home,” Jasmine said.
During her family’s time with The Salvation Army, in partnership with her LIFNAV coach, she was able to pay off her eviction debt, maintain a stable job, and find permanent housing for her family…just in time for Christmas.
“That was the only thing I asked for Christmas – for me and my children to have housing…that’s all I wanted. I’m just so grateful. The Salvation Army helped me in ways that I wouldn’t have imagined – it’s the best place in the world. Everyone pitched in and helped. My family is just so grateful.”
