One month down, eleven more to go.  How are the resolutions panning out?  Still encouraged on your weight loss journey?  Without question, every year, the most popular New Year’s resolution is to lose weight. So here’s a few tips I found to help you achieve your goal:

VANILLA WEIGHT

The nose knows when it comes to this tip – Enjoy the smell of vanilla. It tricks your brain into thinking your appetite is already satisfied, report British researchers. And that can lead to losing four-and-a-half pounds in four weeks – without dieting.

EAT BREAKFAST TO LOSE WEIGHT

If you’re trying to lose weight, breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. 78 percent of people who’ve lost 30 pounds or more and have kept it off eat breakfast every morning.

WALK BACKWARDS

Want to lose weight? Walk backwards. Normal walking can help you maintain a healthy weight but walking backwards makes you lose even more fat. According to the University of East London, people walking backwards burned 40 percent more calories than those walking facing front.

MESSY KITCHEN & FAT

Organization is the key to this weight loss tip – Organize your kitchen and you’ll start shedding pounds. A study published in Environment & Behavior, suggests that a disorganized kitchen can add to stress levels and lead to unhealthy, high-calorie food choices.
