Body & Soul | Nashville Christian Family Magazine

After 37 years of living an independent life, God brought a God-fearing man into my life. 6 months later, we were married, 3 months after that we were pregnant, and just before our first anniversary, we welcomed our beautiful baby boy. The blessings are clear and obvious. I cherish and thank God every day for my little family.

But the change. Whoa, the change.

The change my life has seen in a short period of time is staggering. Although all these changes are positive and welcome, at times, it feels almost too much. Like I forget who I was before all this, and I don’t recognize who I am after all this. It is in those moments that I lean on the one thing that has not changed throughout my entire life: God and his unconditional love for me. God loved me when I was single, he loves me as a wife, and he loves me as a mother.

I see his presence woven throughout every part of my life, but particularly in the changes along the way. God has slammed doors in my face to keep me from going on a misadventure. Was that frustrating? Yes. Did that make me angry? Sure did. Was it the best thing for me? Absolutely. These slammed doors forced me to change direction and go through a door I hadn’t planned. Once I made it to the other side of all that change, I could clearly see God’s love for me. God forcing me through the doors I wouldn’t have chosen for myself led me to having a fulfilled single life, a successful career, a marriage founded in His love, and a gift of a son. Change can be scary, but God’s love is always there to guide you through.

Lee Company has also changed drastically throughout its 80 years of business. We have come a long way from “a man and his truck” in 1944. But even in the last handful of years, the changes have been staggering. Geographic expansion, new additions to offered services, technology overhauls. So much has changed, if Leon Lee were alive today, he would not recognize his company, except for one thing: the quality of workmanship remains. Lee Company provides service you can count on, and that will never change.
