If we want to know God, we should spend time in His Word. There are some that may think God is inaccessible or obscure and are of the opinion, “He is in heaven very distant from our day-to-day life experiences”. This is so far from the truth.
The Word of God is so much more than a book about God or empty pages of history. The Word of God is living and breathing. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. (John 1:14). Jesus became the Word and lived and breathed upon the earth. Spending time with the Word is spending time with Jesus. If we have seen Jesus, we have seen God. (John 14:9).
The Bible is full of God’s promises and completely inspired by the Holy Spirit. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 tells us, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works”.
We can put our trust in what we read in the Bible. We can count on God’s promises. Whatever we read in the Scriptures about God, we can take it to the bank. It is not just that God does not lie – God cannot lie (Titus 1:2). Our whole world would crumble if God’s Word was not true. Numbers 23:19 says…
“God is not man, that He should lie, or a son of man, that He should change His mind. Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not fulfill it?”
God sent his Word for us to live by, to understand him and find life purpose. It is also useful for healing, direction and to deliver us from destruction.
We have an amazing opportunity to spend each day with our loving Father, who takes great pleasure in communicating with us through his living Word. It is always relevant and appropriate. God always has a solution before we ever have a problem. Let us not miss this moment in time.
God has a lot to say!!
