Psalm 46:10 (NIV)
“Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
The first day of Spring is March 20. Although our nation is not only continuing to deal with the aftermath of the Pandemic we are experiencing almost unprecedented inflation economically and ongoing civil unrest. Add to that, we are witnessing a brutal and unwarranted war in Europe.
With that said, Spring is a wonderful season of the year to focus on and celebrate the good things that God provides for us, His glorious and awe inspiring creation, our family and friends, our freedoms, you can add to this I am sure.
Spring brings beautiful sunrises, warmer days with plants, flowers and trees beginning to bud and come out of their winter sleep. Birds are chirping and building nests and eggs will begin to hatch with cheeping babies. Bees begin to buzz around, beautiful butterflies appear, we all just seem to be in a better mood, or at least I am!
We’ve heard it time and again, “stop and smell the roses.” Along with our hectic and fast paced lives that we lead, and all of the other distractions, this can seem almost impossible to do But it is important that from time to time we do indeed need to just stop, look, listen, relax and be thankful for what the Lord has given us.
Spring is the perfect time to “be still and know that He is God” as we enjoy His marvelous handiwork we see in the creation of such a complex yet beautiful world.
On a upcoming pleasant spring day, get your family together and have some quality outdoor family time discussing all of the wonders of spring that we are so blessed to be able to enjoy thanks to God’s awesome power.
I hope that this Spring brings you a renewed and refreshed soul.
