Very early in the morning, while it was still dark,
Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a
solitary place where He prayed.
Mark 1:35
What Does The Bible Say About Tithing Your Time?
It’s interesting that in the Bible, there is only one thing that we are allowed to test God on, “Tithing”, giving Him the first fruits of our income. I believe with all my heart that Tithing our time, giving Him the first fruits of our “Time” falls into this same category and is probably just as important to Him, after all He is our Father, and what Father doesn’t yearn to spend time with his children.
Secondly as Christians with a desire to strive to be more like Jesus, the above scripture clearly shows that Jesus did just that… “Tithed His Time”. He started His day off early in morning in prayer and intimate conversation with our Father.
The Bible tells us that God wants to bless our lives in ways that we cannot even imagine. As our heavenly Father He wants to fulfill His dream for our lives. So many times we miss God’s best because we don’t give Him the opportunity to guide and direct our lives on a daily basis!
With all the challenges us men face as Husbands, Fathers and providers, the stress can be unbearable at times. There is an enemy whose sole purpose is to rob us of our peace and Joy. I call the enemy Jr. “Joy Robber” because that’s exactly who he is and is his entire M.O. Although many of us do not realize it, we’re always wrestling against the unseen powers in the spiritual realm. There is an unending struggle and prayer is the weapon that will turn the tide! “Stay alert. Watch out for your great enemy the Devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8
People that know me are very familiar with two of my favorite slogans, Armor up.. or get slaughtered. “Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand against everything the enemy throws your way”. Ephesians 6:11
The second is “There’s power in the Hour”. Spend your first waking hour “Tithe your Time” in prayer and reading the word of God and watch your life drastically change!
God has a pre-planned destiny for you and a perfect plan for your life. Spend time with Him at the beginning of each day, pray to Him, seek Him and ask Him to help you be the son He wants you to be. Talk to your Father each and every morning and Watch Him bless you with peace and joy in a way that you could have never of imagined. I challenge you to take the test!
